Keishiro "Keish" Nishijima - Class Of 2007

   Keishiro "Keish" Nishijima,

         DOD: 19 June, 2018 - Age 28

Keishiro "Keish" Nishijima a 2007 graduate of Palo Alto High School and resident of Mountain View was killed in an accident Tuesday night when he lost control of his morotcycle, was thrown off and subsequently struck by a vehicle.

Keish was a transfer to UC Berkeley where he graduated in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He received his AA at Foothill College where he was involved in student government, was a Pass the Torch English Tutor and the President's Roundtable.

Keish had just started working for Tanium, an Emeryville security and systems management company. Before joining Tanium, he worked as an account manager for the Sunnyvale cyber-security company, Proofpoint since January, 2017.

The initial CHP investigation found that Nishijima entered Highway 101 from eastbound Mathilda at an "unknown" speed before losing control of his blue Yamaha R6 motorcycle, CHP Officer Lee said. He landed in the lane to his left (third lane), where he was struck by a black Toyota Camry that swerved into the fourth lane. However, he was pinned under the car when CHP arrived.  He was rushed to Stanford Hospital where he died having sustained major injuries.

CHP officers are uncertain why Nishijima lost control of the motorcycle. The driver of the Camry was not under the influence of alcohol during the time of the crash.
