My best friend of 48 years has left us. I am heartbroken to report that Pierre Tronik unexpectedly passed away yesterday, April 4th. He died at his home in Palo Alto. Pierre is survived by his mother, Annick Tronik, 101 Alma St. #707, Palo Alto, CA 94301. I hope our fellow classmates will find it in their hearts to send sympathy cards to Mrs. Tronik, as no Mother should have to mourn her children.
I met Pierre in 1970 – 5th grade at Crescent Park Elementary School (now gone) and we quickly became best of friends. Then on to Jordan Jr. High school where we added Bill Yee, Jim Donald, and Adam Saunders to create a wonderful group of friends. We all survived high school at Paly (Class of ’77).  Oh the adventures we had!

Pierre married a few years after college and had one son, Pierre, Jr. who resides in Colorado. Pierre and I have been going to dinner and movies every other week for the past 10+ years, after he moved back to Palo Alto and lived with his mother after his father passed away.
We were schedule to go to dinner and a movie last night. I talked to him on Tuesday night and he was in great spirits. He’s gone way too soon. The loss I’m feeling is immense. Rest in Peace my Friend, and save a spot for me!
