                     July 23, 1957 - November 29, 2020

                                Residence:  Palo Alto, California

 

 

Mitchel Brian Johnson of Palo Alto, age 63, passed away on November 29, 2020 in San Francisco.

Mitch was born in Pasadena, California on July 23, 1957. 

He graduated from Palo Alto High School and was very active in the alumni and reunion committees for the Class of ’75.

Mitch loved Palo Alto. He had many good friends that he kept in touch with. He was the owner of Palo Alto Upholstery for over 40 years

He enjoyed the great outdoors, especially Lake Tahoe and Lake Comanche. He fished in Baja and Alaska.  He loved hunting, fishing, boating, and working on his project cars. He entered his beautiful Ford Ranchero in local car shows, winning in several categories.

He enjoyed the opportunity to work in the halftime crew for the 2016 Super Bowl 50 at Levi Stadium.

Mitch was a member of the Palo Alto Elks Lodge, later a member of the Sunnyvale Lodge. He was a member of the “Dirt Crew” BBQ team where they cooked for large events and served the Veterans at the PA Veteran’s Hospital which he was proud to support.

Mitch is survived by his parents Dean and Lorraine; sister, Judy (Dirk),  brother, Mike;  nieces, Lauren, Kirsten (Mickey) and Kat (Josh), nephew Erik; as well as one grand-nephew, Skip. He will be sorely missed by his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his faithful Labradors, Howie and Vern.

No funeral service will be held due to the CCP virus, but a Celebration of Life will be planned later. His ashes will be scattered in the San Francisco Bay.
