Ruth Darlene was born in Norfolk, VA on December 21, 1946 to Harry and Mary Crittenden. After living in Florida where her father went to Bible college and her sister, Joyce was born, Ruth came with her family to California at the age of 6 settling in Palo Alto. Ruth was a 1964 graduate of Palo Alto High School.  She married in 1977 and gave birth to her only child, a daughter, Alicia in 1978. 

After working several jobs including the County, she returned to Palo Alto with her daughter and was hired at Intel
