Patrick S. Parise - Class Of 1954

     

     PATRICK S. PARISE

             October 9, 1934 - January 24, 2011

                      Residence: Rancho Mirage, California

Patrick Parise passed away on January 24, 2011, in Rancho Mirage, California from complications of COPD. Patrick was born on October 9, 1934 to Salvatore and Viola Parise in Milwaukee, Wis. He attended St. John Nepomuk Elementary School, and was an Altar boy at St. John's Church. He attended Rufus King High School until the family moved to Palo Alto, and Patrick graduated from Palo Alto Senior High School.

He served honorably in the U.S. Navy. He attended Foothill College, and was a manager of Facciola Wholesale Foods for 35 years. He married Barbara Moffett Parise, also a "Paly" graduate, in 1960. They resided in Los Altos Hills, where they raised their two sons.

Patrick was a professional baseball umpire and umpired for Stanford, Menlo College, and local high schools. He was active with the Boy Scouts, President and chief umpire of Los Altos Hills Little League, and attended Saint Nicholas Church in Los Altos.

After retirement, Patrick and Barbara moved to La Quinta, Calif. In August 2010, Patrick and Barbara celebrated their 50th Anniversary, surrounded by family and friends. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His kindness, generosity and sense of humor will be deeply missed. Patrick is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Anthony (Lucille) and Christopher (Joanne); six grandchildren, Anthony, Kevin, Nicole, Tyler, Megan, and Nicholas. He is also survived by two sisters, Anne Iwamoto of Berkeley, Calif. and Joan Vykukal of Sacramento, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate his life were held 10:00 AM, February 3, 2011 at Saint Francis of Assisi Church 47-225 Washington Street, La Quinta, CA.
