In Memory

Sandra Lynn (Sandy) Zschokke (Williams) - Class Of 1957

Sandra Lynn Zschokke Williams

Dec. 27, 1939 - July 26, 2007

The youngest child of Fremont and Alice Zschokke, Sandra was born and raised in Palo Alto, CA, where her great-grandmother Alice Probst Zschokke was the first resident of Palo Alto. Alice was a widow with three children and camped under an oak tree while her house was built. She also founded the first public school in Palo Alto and was instrumental in it's growth all her life.

During her youth, Sandy was raised on the Quinto Ranch in Gustine, CA, where she loved riding horses and was an outstanding swimmer for the local high school. Sandy was married following her graduation from Palo Alto High School to Jim Williams and they had four children, Kimberlie, Robert, Jodie and Jennifer.

Sandy was a caring and fun loving person who was an outstanding cook and loving mother. She enjoyed skiing, gardening, fishing and entertaining. Sandy overcame the tragic loss of two of her first-born in the prime of their life.

Jodie and Jennifer survive their mother along with four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and three great-step- grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Phil and her companion for the last 15 years, Will Atkinson. Sandy will be sorely missed by all her dear friends and loved ones. She was the real deal.

Contributions in her memory can be made to the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford, 725 Welch Road, Palo Alto, CA 94304.
