Susan (Kohles nee) Wright

Susan (Kohles nee) Wright  succumbed to complications of COVID-19 on October 2, 2021 in Bend, Oregon. She turned 73 on September 6. She had moved to Bend a few months prior from Lincoln, California to be near one of her daughters.  

Susan was born in Des Moines, Iowa and later moved to Palo Alto where she attended Jordan Junior High and was a 1966 graduate of Palo Alto High School. At Paly she was secretary of the Ski Club, on the Executive Committee of the Board of Welfare, and participated in Aquacade and Jinx. She was a graduate of the University of Utah followed by graduate work at San Jose State before serving a long career in nursing. She became a case manager at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital.

"Susan was blessed with a bright smile and a sense of humor and the ability to find laughter," said lifelong friend and Paly '66 classmate, Suzy Jones Roy. "She was a best friend, selfless, and always wanting to take care of others. Know that she will be missed by the many lives she touched in her time here."

Susan was predeceased in 2020 by her husband, Peter of 47 years. She is survived by two daughters: Megan Wright-Hawkins and Karin Nicole Wright, along with four grandchildren.
