Dr. Else Benjamin Weinthal Peters Tracy, a longtime resident of Moss Point, passed away on Sunday February 14, 2016 in New Orleans, LA at the age of 79. Else was born the only child of Samuel and Erna Benjamin on April 24, 1936 in Logo, Germany. Her destiny was to inspire others, allowing her family of Holocaust survivors to chart her course to help others. She graduated from Stanford Medical School in 1961 and was a member of the American Psychiatric Association, practicing medicine in New Orleans before moving her practice to Pascagoula in 1978. She chose to achieve life's goals her way, understanding that best of friends can disagree and dedicated her life to helping others. It was her virtues of generosity, compassion, wit , humor and hope filled joy that brightened the lives of her patients, family, and friends. A beautiful person inside and out, the world was made better because of her contribution and dedication to others. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her stepfather, John Peters. She is survived by two daughters, Laura Kinsey and husband Joey of Irvington, AL and Lisa Carpenter of Nashville, TN; friend and father of her children, Dr. Richard Tracy.
