Private services were held in Paradise for Joseph A. Wiget, a U.S. Army veteran and longtime Santa Cruz car salesman who died Monday. He was 53.

A native of Michigan, Mr. Wiget moved to Santa Cruz in 1966. He lived in Magalia for the last two years.

He is survived by his sons, Perry Wiget of Santa Cruz and Brad Wiget of Soquel; his daughter, Lesa John of Aptos; his mother, Marsha Wiget of Paradise; his brother, Barney Wiget of Pacifica; his sister, Nancy Phillips of Napa; and two grandchildren.

Norman's Family Chapel, 3620 Soquel Drive, Santa Cruz, is in charge of arrangements.
