DAVID ALLEN BREWICK

David Allen Brewick, 79, a resident of Los Gatos, California passed away on June 14, 2015 after a long illness.

David was born in Chicago, IL, to Allan and Florence Brewick. David and his family moved to Palo Alto, CA, in 1946. He graduated from Palo Alto Senior High School in 1954. He joined the U.S. Army in 1958 where he served in the military police in Europe for three years. After three years as a police officer in Palo Alto he joined the California Highway Patrol and retired as a sergeant after 29 years.

Dave was married to Martha Brouwer in 1959 and they had two daughters-(Evelyn Guernsey and Lynn O’Brien). Dave and Ervie were married in 1985. He loved hunting and fishing with his wife and traveling to many foreign countries. Dave’s joy was always focused on family, good food and getting together with friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allan and Florence Brewick. He is survived by his wife, Ervie Smith Brewick of Los Gatos, CA., brother, Dennis Brewick of Georgetown, TX; daughter, Evelyn Guernsey (James) of Palo Alto, CA, and their daughter Samantha; daughter Lynn O’Brien (Peter) of Eagle, ID and their son Patrick and daughter Mackenzie. He is also survived by three stepsons Kent, Kevin and Kyle Smith.

Services were held Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church, 3149 Waverley St, Palo Alto, CA 94306. Burial followed at Los Gatos Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to CancerCAREpoint Resource Center, 2505 Samaritan Dr. #402, San Jose, CA 95124 www.cancercarepoint.org
