On Friday, July 31, 2020, Junior (Jim) Leung passed away at the age of 90.

Junior (Jim) was born on January 29, 1930, in Palo Alto, CA to Hing Leung and Chew Shee. As the youngest of three children, he went to David Starr Jordan Jr. High School and graduated from Palo Alto High School in 1949. He married Elaine K. Gee on March 22, 1957. They had no children.

He worked for many institutions including Stanford University, nd as lead cook for the students and boarders at Sacred Heart  for over 18 years. Once the boarding school closed, he transferred as main cook to the Oakwood Retirement Center cooking for the sisters for 15 more years. After retirrng, Jim volunteered for 15 more years preparing meals at La Comida, a food service organization for the senior community in Palo Alto. He continued his volunteering endeavors for many years with Bread Barron, delivering bread and food to diverse groups in the community. He was generous with his time in taking his friends to doctor's appointments and errands. He would never accept money for his time, but he would enjoy their company over a meal and pleasant conversation.

He was known for his quick wit, fun-loving attitude, his infectious smile, his kind, outgoing and compassionate spirit, and love for life. Our family will always adore and love him as he lives in our hearts and continues in his next life.
