Lee Harker Cliff, born Aug 7, 1930, peacefully passed away on March 20, 2022, in Cupertino, CA surrounded by family. Lee graduated from Palo Alto High School in 1948 and Dartmouth College in 1952. He served in the US Army 1952-1955, attending the Army Language School in Monterey, and then was stationed in Japan, Korea, and the Philippines. Lee earned his Law degree from UC Berkeley School of Law in 1958, and practiced law in San Francisco at Hall, Henry, Oliver and Mcreavy until the mid 1980s. He then worked as a legal mediator before settling into full retirement.

On Aug 12, 1955, Lee married Nell Sesnon, with whom he spent his life until she passed away in Nov 2021. They raised four children in Piedmont and then moved to Santa Cruz where they were active in the community for 30 years. Lee and Nell lived their last 11 years together at The Forum at Rancho San Antonio in Santa Clara County.

Lee enjoyed photography, bread making, woodworking, and making wine from chardonnay grapes that he grew. He was an avid reader and enjoyed Dixieland and bluegrass music. Above all, Lee loved thoughtful conversation with anyone who would participate. He was intelligent, knowledgeable and had a strong sense of fairness.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Margaret Cliff; his wife, Nell Sesnon Cliff; daughter, Molly Porter Cliff; and brother, Frank B. Cliff. He is survived by his children, Dan (Martha) Cliff, Susan Cliff, Peter (Sheila) Cliff; his son-in-law, Dave Hilts; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
